Volunteer Opportunities

  • Current call for participation in the development of VR tools for DMG’s research partnership with Digital Futures OCADU. We’re looking for folks who would be interested in consulting on a template VR file the Digital Futures team is building. The template file in development will be used in an upcoming game jam being hosted in August as part of Bodies in Play – our research partnership. Would you like to participate? This consult would happen during the day in early July. If you’re interested, please send a note with the subject – BiP VR Template to [email protected]. We’re looking for three to four volunteers. Timeline to share interest — June 16th, 2023.

Call for Workshops & Speakers (ongoing)

The DMG Twitch channel has started an ongoing series of gaming industry workshops, talks, and a showcase that will highlight members of the community and their projects. [Click here] for more information!

How do you get involved?

We are currently doing a DMG-community call for anyone who would like to do workshop, talk, or showcase where you share your past or current projects at any of its stages! Contact [email protected] for more information. If you are not a DMG community member but are interested in offering a Workshop or doing a Guest Talk for our membership, please reach out as we’d love to discuss potential collaborations!

Note: all episodes will be recorded and available for DMG community members to access and watch in case they’re unable to attend. Presenters will be compensated for their work and time!

Mentoring (ongoing)

Are you interested in working with our community and sharing your skills, knowledge, and wisdom? We are always excited to connect community members with mentors either through our long programs (Damage Labs & Mayhem) or through other workshop/skill sharing opportunities! This role allows both industry professionals and community members with skills and experience they wish to share the chance to connect with diverse creatives to provide support, advice, and direction. This role is shaped around the mentor’s schedule and what amount of time they are able to commit – and is compensated according to the individual project budgets!

If you are interested in becoming a mentor with one of DMG’s programs, workshops, or want to talk about what this process entails, please reach out to us at [email protected] or directly to our Program Director at [email protected].
