DMG Workshop • At the Toronto Media Arts Centre (32 Lisgar Street)

Love the look of low-poly? Want to get started with making 3D art for games in a supportive, artist-centered environment?

Join us for a two-part hands-on workshop and learn from artist Kaitlyn Dougon!

*NOTE: This is a 2-part workshop on November 30 and December 7. Register for both parts on the first session event page.*

Overview (Part 2)

In the second lesson, participants will build on the fundamentals and learn the ways that 3D modeling can go oh-so-wrong and how to identify and fix problems as they arise and how they can set up non-destructive workflows.

  • Modelling our Dining Set
  • Using the Mirror Modifier
  • Developing a Non-Destructive Workflow
  • Fixing Non-Manifold Problems
  • Export Settings
  • Final Mission – In the second half of the workshop, participants will continue working on their own dining room set.

Participants will be provided with a Blender file with a dining room scene, complete with assets Kaitlyn has made that can be taken apart and inspected, and UV unwrapping textures she uses.
