Our monthly speaker social! Every month, 3 women working in games, on game-related projects, or in interactive arts give a brief presentation on their work. Expect fascinating insights into a broad range of disciplines, introductions to rad projects and tools, interesting creators and new friends!
After the talks, we chat, mingle, and share some snacks. All are welcome, and it’s always free!
Christina Guo is CEO and founder of U-Dimensions. She graduated from OCAD University with a Bachelor of Material Design and minor in Communication Design. She is extremely creative and perceptive, an expert in 2D and 3D design, and began this exciting project in her thesis year. Christina will be presenting her work with U-Dimenstions, a start-up incubated by OCAD University’s Imagination Catalyst that provides both web and mobile platforms that allow game companies to turn their digital creations into physical accessories.
Tanya Kan is a game and interactive media designer. She specializes in creating narrative-driven experiences, centering on personal stories that explore sociopolitical challenges. She combines her background in political science and cinema studies at University of Toronto and 3D game arts at Seneca College in her experimental interactive media. Her work experience include illustration, and interactive product simulations in UDK, Unreal 4 and 3DS Max. Her current solo game project, Solace State, is a sci-fi visual novel about a young woman’s coming-of-age journey in a city undergoing division and dissent.

Our monthly member meeting and social—open to everyone—aims to showcase the work of queer and gender-marginalized folks involved with games in a wide variety of roles. Designers, developers, artists, critics, fans, writers, people new to games and seasoned pros are all welcome and have shared the mic at DMG.
It's also a platform for participants to find encouragement, resources and a venue for speaking about their work in a supportive and productive environment.
