A theme that would chill you to your very soul… if you had one. Think rampaging anthropomorphic vehicles, deadly robotesses and remote-controlled humanoid vigilantes, amazing / unusual / weird / big user interfaces, death and disempowerment to the machines.
WHO: All DMG members. Work in a team or solo.
WHAT: 48 hours to make a game on the theme of killer interfaces.
Feb Fatale 3 is part of Vector Festival of Games and New Media Art! We are so excited to be part of this amazing festival for the third year in a row and grateful for the ongoing support from the good people at Vector.
Jam participants will have an opportunity to showcase their games at our February Speakers Social during Vector, on Saturday, Feb 21 at 5 p.m.
Think about modifying or eschewing traditional input methods (mouse, keyboard, gamepad), building custom physical controllers (MaKey MaKey, Arduino), using new types of controllers (Leap Motion), designing interesting new digital interfaces within your game world, creating an experiential interface instead of a “game,” games as interface for physical output, space as interface, etc. Or just play with a noir-meets-mechanical-destruction story in your game!
Light breakfast (bagels and spreads, coffee, tea and juice) and lunch (salad, sandwiches, desserts and soft drinks) will be provided. Be sure to note any food preferences and allergies in your member profile.
Loaner laptops and TTC tokens are available by request.
