Ad Hoctober

Saturday, October 4 – Sunday, October 5, 2014

It’s time – DMG is hosting another weekend game jam at Bento Miso!

If you want to stay on theme, avoid pre-jam planning. We’ll give you a problem to solve, with the tools at hand, on the morning of the first jam day. It’s Ad Hoctober time (punny name courtesy of netgrind).

WHO: DMG members. Ideal for game creators with some work under their belt, but all experience and skill levels are welcome!

WHAT: No mentors, no floaters — just 48 hours to share a space with 30+ supportive and friendly dames + friends, and create a game on your own or in a team.

WHERE: Bento Miso, as always. Comfy chairs, wifi, free-flowing coffee, whiteboards + Trinity-Bellwoods park breaks.

  • Breakfast and lunch provided each day.
  • TTC tokens available by request.
  • Mac and PC laptops available to borrow, or bring your own gear.
  • Submit games here!

I’m new to making games! is a jam right for me?
Even if you’ve never made a game before, we would never stop you from joining the chaotic fun that is a game jam! Just keep in mind that there will be no dedicated mentors (people there only to help troubleshoot) or “floaters” (people who help create art and sound for multiple teams at a jam). But you will have the support and encouragement of a roomful of amazing DMG members, and joining a team in a support role is a great way to get a taste of the game-making process and dive into the community head-first.
