A New Home?
Looking for an opportunity to support DMG? Want to lend your time and skills to women, genderqueer, nonbinary and femme folks creating wondrous new experiences in VR? Come mentor with our summer intensive, Damage Camp 005: SPF90FPS!
👉 Apply to Mentor Now 👈
You don't have to be an expert to be a DMG mentor. In fact, we encourage folks with all levels of experience to apply to mentor – it will be a great learning experience for you, too! A collaborative attitude and a desire to support the work of other creators goes a lot farther than specific technical expertise.
You'll provide one-on-one support to SPF90FPS participants, who will be creating small interactive VR experiences. All mentor sessions take place at Gamma Space (862 Richmond St W, Toronto) between July 22 and September 23.
Off-hours/offsite support via Slack will also be appreciated, but not expected.
If you are a Class A member of DMG, and are selected as a mentor for this program, you will be paid $75 for each scheduled one on one mentorship session. Otherwise, this is a volunteer opportunity.
Please review DMG's mentor and volunteer guidelines to learn more about the role of mentors in our intensive programs.
For SPF90FPS, we are particularly looking for mentors who can support 1-2 participants consistently throughout the program and can attend at least 6 of the session dates.
Mentor orientation (required): July 12, 7-8:30 p.m.
Participants will be matched up with mentors and work sessions once the program kicks off. Open sessions:
